We still need to collect €138,000 to finance the renovation work needed to meet regulations (electricity, plumbing, waterproofing, etc.).
Financial autonomy is a political choice. At a time when governments are inspired by the far right, reactionary laws are proliferating, and the repression hitting activist collectives is getting tougher, we don’t want to be financially dependent on the agenda of local political forces, or let them influence the workings and life of the 38.

WHAT’S THE 38?

Le centre social Tchoukar, aka le 38, is both a neighborhood social centre in the St-Bruno neighbourhood in Grenoble and a political organisation space for collectives fighting against the world’s capitalist and authoritarian forced march.
It’s a place that operates in autonomy, where lots of different people come together, share material resources, knowledge and skills. A place for living together that everyone can take advantage of to propose their own projects and occupy existing spaces.
